The Color! Unit covers the basics of color theory: primary, secondary and tertiary colors, plus how to mix and match colors to make a pleasant color scheme - whether in artistic endeavors, in decorating, or in fashion. It includes a smattering of history, some biographical and informational research, Kym’s standard FunSheets with many hands-on projects and as always, loads of fun for teacher and student. Two wonderful new features added to this unit are the full-color prints of art reproductions and samples to explain and illustrate the lessons. And secondly, the Color! CD containing fine art reproductions with color scheme samples and more information included.
To encourage a love of the library, by learning how it works and the resources available, Kym’s Library Unit Study covers it all! This course teaches library history through the parts of a book and the job of the many types of librarians. Learn all the areas of most libraries, and yours in particular, then find out how to go online with your local library system. Make a library form and notebook while making returns without regrets. Create your personalized reading list and get organized with a library bag. Special needs services offered by many libraries are covered along with lessons and forms on how to begin a library, volunteering, starting a story hour and creating a literature club.
All children love turtles – watching them, feeding them, and looking for them in the wild. So ... Kym wrote the Turtles! Unit Study to teach about turtle taxonomy, the difference between reptiles and amphibians and turtle history. Is there a way to tell the age of a turtle by its shell?  What do they eat and how are they born?  Is a softshell turtle a mistake of nature?  These questions and more are answered, with Kym’s typical detailed lesson plans, vocabulary list, websites, field trip ideas, resources and books, and fun for all ages. The neatest part is the Turtles! CD included, covering opening a turtle specimen’s shell and dissection. Use it to guide you through your own dissection, or give credit for virtual dissection! Fascinating, fun and informative!
As our homeschool children turn into preteens and teens, we see a need to help them learn about the world in preparation for their upcoming lives as adults: hands-on experiences, to see the poverty, the need, and take part in bringing hope and healing. Working with established groups, creating your own, or volunteering individually, there are always opportunities for service. History, people, field trips, and careers. 4th grade & up.
The Microscope Adventure is our most popular unit to date! Written for our hands-on, no-write son, this unit contains guides for studying 26 specimens, PLUS Lab Sheets. Using easy-to-find specimens and the Lab Sheets provided, students from grade 4 through high school learn about microscopic life and scientific methods. So, come along on an Arachnid Adventure!

Desiring to teach her children the wonderful art of floral arrangement and crafts, along with making wreaths ~ all in a systematic approach, Kym created the Flower Arranging and Wreaths Unit Study. In her research, she found that colleges teach this type course as "Horticulture 352: Flower Arranging." This course covers enough for a one-semester high school credit. With marketing plans & practice, it becomes a one-year high school credit.

The Bird Unit Study is 90+ pages, dubbed "Unit Studies for the Clueless" by a reviewer. It includes everything needed for a comprehensive study of birds, by the whole family.
