The Garden Quilt has since been finished, with a border of purple and another of the flower-print fabric of the gardener’s dress. This quilt became the inspiration for decorating our laundry room.

The pieces are all machine appliquéd, a first for me, since I have always preferred hand-appliquéd pieces. When the batting and back were added, I hand-stitched around each and every piece! That made me feel better about machine- appliquéing everything!

Note the flowers, cabbages, carrots and radishes. I love gardens, especially other people's and those depicted on quilts!
