Oh, the Chicken Quilt! It began as 6 blocks with chickens on them. But, I kept adding more blocks. Then I was inspired to put in the center block with a mother hen and two sizes of baby chicks. This took me 2 years of picking it up and putting it down, to finish the top.

“With Kate” is a view of our then-2-year-old in front of the Chicken Quilt. She is wearing a dress with a mother hen and chicks that I appliquéd on the front bodice of her dress. Mark says that whatever stands still long enough will end up quilted!
